<hi style=afpcap>The title 'Jenny' was applied to a series of biplanes produced by Curtiss. The name came about by simply combining the structural features of two earlier designs, the J and the N. The JNs were operated during World War One as a trainer, and subsequently in civilian ownership as a barnstormer at numerous aviation events, thereby ensuring the Jenny was one of the most widely known aircraft in the USA at the time. The JN-4H, illustrated, was an advanced trainer fitted with a Wright built Hispano Suiza engine.</hi>
